As a facilitator, you'll gain confidence in explaining essential climate concepts, from how our atmosphere is changing to the impacts on local ecosystems. We'll equip you with accessible information to help you confidently answer common questions from young people.
You'll also learn effective ways to discuss the human consequences of climate change, exploring both Canadian and global perspectives. This will enable students to understand the local relevance and broader implications of this critical issue.

Training for Facilitation
Your Training Journey
Becoming a great facilitator is all about learning and doing. Here's what you can expect:
  • Online Prep (2 hours): Kick things off with our simple online course. It's a quick way to get familiar with the basics before your live session.
  • Live Training (3 hours): Join an engaging session where you'll learn how to lead workshops, understand the topics well, and practice guiding discussions.
  • Hands-on Practice: We know that actually doing it is the best way to learn! You'll get plenty of chances to practice, build your confidence, and develop your own unique style as a Climate Fresk facilitator.
Support is always available
Peer Mentorship
Every new facilitator is paired with experienced mentors who provide guidance, support, and practical wisdom gained from their past facilitation.
Team Coordination
Senior facilitators coordinate teams of 3-10 facilitators per class, ensuring smooth operations and collaborative success for every session.
Community Support
From pre-session planning meetings to post-session debriefs, you'll have ongoing support to help you grow and succeed as an educator.
Time Commitment Per Session

Travel (15-60 minutes)
We match you with the closest available location to minimize travel time while maximizing your impact in local communities.

Setup & Preparation (30 minutes)
Arrive early to arrange materials, test technology, and create an optimal learning environment for students.
03
Facilitation (2.5 hours)
Lead engaging sessions that inspire and educate students about climate science and solutions through interactive learning.
04
Cleanup & Debrief (30 minutes)
Wrap up materials and participate in brief reflection sessions to continuously improve our program effectiveness.
05
Team Planning (1 hour)
Collaborate with fellow facilitators to plan sessions, especially important during your first experiences. Can be conducted online or in-person.

We're actively building partnerships with schools and universities in Ontario and BC. Educational institution requests are expected by end of October.

Facilitation Opportunities Open
Most facilitation opportunities will begin in January, giving you time to complete training and prepare for your new role.

Ongoing Opportunities
Regular facilitation sessions will be scheduled based on institutional needs and facilitator availability throughout the academic year.

Stipend Per Session
Once you are assessed as proficient and confortable facilitating, you will receive compensation for your expertise and time, plus full reimbursement for travel expenses to and from facilitation locations.
